A pioneer and multidisciplinary, Olivier Lapidus took over the artistic direction of the Couture House founded by his father in 1980. He remained there until 2000.

Throughout his haute couture collections, Olivier Lapidus developed cross-cutting links between artisans and researchers: his fashion shows in the 1990s brought together crafts and innovation.

Olivier Lapidus becomes a precursor of “fashion-tech”. His style is graphic. A certain number of patents and new discoveries are born from his collections: luminous dresses in woven optical fibers, new threads from natural materials, hologram embroidery, communicating jackets integrating a flexible telephone on the sleeve and solar panels, fractal prints, perfumed textiles via micro-capsules with natural binders, etc.
In 1994, he was awarded the prestigious Dé D’Or for couture, recognizing his expertise in French craftsmanship and innovation.

In 2017, Olivier Lapidus was appointed artistic director of the oldest Parisian fashion house: Lanvin.

His creations at Lanvin Summer 2018 and Winter 2018/2019 are then worn by many international stars.
